TIME: SPRING 2013 // 10 WEEKS

LOCATION: STATE COLLEGE, PA

TEAM: Tess Haverstick // Ryan Donahue // Darius Hopkins // Suheng Li // Kyle McAlpin // Lauren Obermiller // James Wright

Myself and a team of students worked together in order to construct an intervention for the intentions of attracting students, professors, and pedestrians to the Stuckeman Library located in the Stuckeman Family Building on the Penn State University campus. The location chosen contained two wall barriers that, although could be used as seating, were uncomfortable and difficult to utilize. The benches created twist around and use the wall barrier as a table for the user. The bench creates both a private and a public space to occupy while allowing the user to gaze into the activities of the Stuckeman Library. The shape and modular design of the bench reflects Hort Woods which lies opposite the library.
